Sensational Sparklers..
A Tasting of Single-Grower Champagne
Champagne’s best-kept secret is unquestionably the extremely low-production “Single Grower” Champagnes that posses far more character and complexity than the commercially-driven bubbly produced by the big Champagne firms like Veuve-Cliquot and Mumm’s. Join us for this rare foray into the world of Grower Champagnes in this spectacular seminar.

Amounting to less than 3% of all Champagne produced, “Single-Grower” Champagnes have been described as "artisanal winemaking" with terroir (flavors, aromas and other characteristics derived from the mineral make-up of the soil-type and local micro-climate) being at the forefront for each wine, rather than an emphasis on a consistent "house style" that can be made year after year. While large Champagne houses, such as Moët et Chandon may source grapes from the entire Champagne region, the vineyards owned by a Grower Champagne maker are generally clustered around a single village. Some growers will craft their wine to reflect the terroir of that village, especially if they own vineyards in one of Champagne's Grand crus.

Charles Woods, proprietor of Bonhomie Wines, a specialty wine importer of these unique sparklers, will conduct an intriguing tasting of these rare gems at the Summit Wine and Food Festival. This seminar is certain to sell-out quickly, so purchase your tickets for this special event soon!
