Judges:

“A FOOD & WINE EXTRAVAGANZA!”

A gastronomic experience that aptly demonstrates the art and enjoyment of food and wine pairing in a competitive setting performed right in front of you, up close and personal. Attendees will be able to watch master chefs at work doing their thing, while sampling the extraordinary dishes prepared by the competing chefs and tasting the various wines in the competition.

The Game Showdown is a culinary competition where seven chefs prepare a dish featuring a game bird of some sort to be judged by a panel of five judges.

Each chef will not only have to simply create the dish, they have to be able to pair it with one of seven different wines that will be included in the competition, with the specific wine being chosen in advance.

The judging panel will consist of a journalist, a winery representative, a sommelier, a chef, and a consumer. The judges will taste the various dishes with their wine pairing and rate them on a score sheet. The chef with the highest score is then declared the winner. The winner will receive a monetary prize and gifts from the event sponsors.

This promises to be a fun and uniquely entertaining event that will certainly be one of the highlights of the 2010 Summit Wine & Food Festival.
