Jonathan Ross serves as General Manager and Sommelier at Uproot Restaurant. A passionate and dedicated professional; Jonathan has created a complex wine list and a progressive cocktail program. His familiarity with the philosophies of the Uproot kitchen will ensure strong beverage pairings based on the seasonal availability of farm fresh ingredients.

Jonathan's experiences both here in New Jersey and in New York City have given him a commanding background in cuisine, wine, spirits, and service. Since managing the Michelin-starred dining room of Anthos in Manhattan, he has built and trained a service staff of unparalleled professionalism. The dining culture here at Uproot is no different; mature, polished and savvy!

Prior to his position at Anthos, Jonathan worked alongside Chef Anthony Bucco at Stage Left Restaurant in New Brunswick. It was here that Jonathan expanded his wine and spirit foundation. In May of 2006, he became the second person in New Jersey to ever be certified as a Sommelier by the International Court of Master Sommeliers. Powered by an educated palate and a strong education of the diverse viticulture world, he moved on from Anthos to become the Sommelier at Porter House, New York.

Jonathan has created a unique service experience for Uproot guests which will rival the best restaurants in the Metropolitan area. Jonathan's wine program is sensitive to place, purpose and expression. Focused examples of well-known and not so well-known appellations occupy Uproot's wine list. Jonathan's cultivation of the finer things in life will manifest into an enjoyable experience at Uproot!
